This may seem like basic thing that many artists have done possibly hundreds of times with websites like SubmitHub and Daily Playlists. However, I have a few friends that work in press and radio, and they've told me more than once that you would be shocked to hear how many artists still get this wrong!
For starters if you send your song off like this and it's not clear what the artist or the song title is, then you just won't get picked up.

So make sure all of those details are very clear, remember to also add your artwork and links to find you on social media, streaming and your website. The more the better.

Although most of us use streaming now lots of people in press and radio still have to handle MP3 files and they're often using something like apple music or VLC to sort this mountain of files they get on a daily basis. If your files don't have the proper labelling in these apps they will just get lost in the library, and again, you just won't get played or reviewed. You can add your own metadata using apple music or VLC (see below).

Bonus points: If you're sending your music off to radio and you want to make sure you get your royalties paid out properly, make sure to add the ISRC code, which you can do with a metadata app or ask your mastering engineer to do that for you.
You can get the code from your music distributors website. This example below is from Distrokid - click on one of your songs on the My Music page to see the details of each song.
